How do you select your Carers?
All Loga Care, carers undergo a stringent recruitment process. This involves interviewing, POVA and CRB clearance, reference checking and a 3 day induction training programme. A large majority of our carers have NVQ level 2 or above and have previous experience in the care industry.
The POVA (Protection of Vulnerable Adults) register and the CRB (Criminal Reference Bureau) is an executive agency of the Home Office. They provide access to criminal records and other information to organisations in England and Wales through the disclosure service. This information concerns prospective carer’s previous convictions, cautions or registration on the POVA so that we are able to ensure we are recruiting people into positions of trust who have no criminal or offending history.

Will my loved on be able to die at home?
Loga Care is committed to people remaining in their own home as long as they wish. Loga Care has an end of life plan for all their clients that are formulated at the care plan stage. Loga Care is able to supply carers experienced in palliative care, although often the carer who has become the primary carer wishes to continue to care for the client at this stage.
Loga Care works as part of the palliative care team taking direction from the specialist care teams. We DO NOT provide a specialist team or advice. Loga Care is able to provide a live-in carer to help deliver the care to the patient/client under the direction of the specialist team.
- The cost for live-in care is dependent on a full assessment of each individual's care needs
- Funding provision from the Government is increasing; live-in care is a more viable prospect financially.
- Our service can provide cost savings over hourly care and competes with the long term cost of residential care.
- Live-in care can be funded in various ways:
- Private Funding.
- Adult Services - either total or with shared payment.
- The Independent Living Fund.
- The costs can be offset against the capital appreciation of still owning a property.
- Loga Care are able to work flexibly with multi-funding sources.
