What is live-in care?

Live-in care is a bespoke care solution that ensures your loved one remains at home in the familiar comfortable surrounding that they are used to with the reassurance of one-to-one care.  They are able to maintain their normal routine, have the freedom of choice over meals, shopping, TV, newspapers, receive visitors and take outings.

As the term 'live-in' suggests, the carer lives with the person in their own home. They sleep there, in their own room and food is provided by the client, although the carer normally does the cooking alone or with the client.

The carer follows a bespoke personalised care plan that is developed with the client, family and Health Care professionals prior to commencement of the care package, to ensure the process is seamless and with the minimum of disruption to the client’s life. The care plan is an evolving plan that is continuously evaluated and amended according to the needs of the client.  The care plan includes a daily routine to ensure that the client maintains ownership and familiarity of their independent life.

Live-in care ensures that your loved one has the security of knowing that someone is always there to help and support them.
Loga Care are able to provide care for palliative clients and firmly believe that no-one should have to leave their home if they do not wish to.

The Carer will be able to support with such things as:

  • Personal Care
  • Housekeeping
  • Cooking
  • Companionship

Live-in care works because:

  • People value their independence.
  • Remaining at home in familiar surroundings is less distressing for people as their level of independence declines.
  • People are able to maintain their normal routine.
  • People are able to host family and friends as they always have.
  • One-to-one care is better than a team of daily changing carers.
  • Carers are able to learn the specific needs, character and routines of their clients and clients are able to form a relationship with their carer.
  • Continuity of Care is easier to establish.
  • People are able to stay with their cherished pets.
  • People are able to stay at home as long as they wish fully supported.
